The Small Shop LA’s Usability:

Introduction:
Hi, Thank you for agreeing to participate in this test today. We’re working on the redesign of a closing website and would love to get some insights about it.

Instructions:
First, please remember that we’re testing the website, not you. Don’t worry at all about mistakes. If they happen, it’s totally fine.
During the whole test, please try to think out loud. Share anything that’s in your head. Tell me what you are looking at on the screen, what your thoughts are, what you like and what don’t you like, et cetera. We want to learn about your honest reactions to the app.

Do you have any questions so far?

Would it be possible to kindly share your screen so that I can see you using the app?
- You can do that from the green button on Zoom.

Thanks for sharing. Before we start I just wanted to let you know to:
- I’ll lay out some tasks for you, with some follow up questions, but I’ll also remain silent at some points just to watch how you use the app by yourself, but feel free to voice your thoughts and the steps you’re taking as it helps to understand how you’re interpreting the screen better.

Recording & Data Privacy
The reason for today’s session is to test the prototype to see whether the design is user friendly and easy to use. We will need to record this session to get back to it in case we miss any points. All recordings will be deleted once we are done with the analysis. In case we use quotes from today’s session, they will be anonymized as well. Is that okay with you?

Sound good? Great, so let’s get started.

Goals:
To find out if the users are able to complete the tasks without difficulties
To improve user experience and ensure that the website accurately reflects their needs

Task1- Home page:
Please take some time to browse the homepage.
Question:
Based on what you have seen: Is there anything that you would like to see/change about the homepage?

Task2- Find a product:
From the home page, show me how you would find the black “lost in Los Angeles ” hoodie.
Questions:
What was the level of difficulty for this task (based on a scale of 0-5)?
What do you think about the overall layout of the page with product details?
Is there anything that you feel is out of place or confusing to you?
Do you think that the information provided for the product including images and specific details is sufficient or would you like to see additional information for this? If yes, what would that be?

Task3 - Purchase a product:
Once you find the product you want to purchase the hoodie. Show me how you would complete the task.
Questions:
Were the pages for checkout easy to understand and follow along?
Is there anything that you feel is out of place or confusing to you?

Task4 - Write a review:
Now that you have purchased the product and it has been delivered, you want to write a review. Show me how you would complete the task starting on the homepage.
Questions:
What was the level of difficulty for this task?
Is there anything that confused you?

Closing Questions:
How was your overall experience with purchasing a product from the website?
What are some ways in which the website can be improved?
Would you recommend this shopping website to others?
Do you have any other suggestions or additional feedback to share?
